Your beloved dog Bello jumped on a sacrificial altar and feasted on the bones. Unbeknownst to Bello, this constitutes a grand cosmic crime, with banishment to the deepest pits of the Underworld as swift punishment.
Your quest is retrieving your dog.
With all your life-savings grasped in your left hand, 5 silver coins, you hang yourself. Conquer the afterlife and retrieve your dog, with one coin to spare to pay the pond back to the realm of the living.

I recommend playing version 2.3.4, as it has no new features, but several core bugs were fixed making it a lot more playable. You should probably press Enter next to the coin at the start to get extra health, as the game can be difficult otherwise.
Version 2.3.2 is the version submitted in time for the Ludum Dare 44.
